The Metro station – Rosslyn Station, 1850 N. Moore Street, Arlington, Virginia. The station was chosen because it suited the filmmakers’ needs. It’s actually miles away from Adams Morgan where Sonia lived. The closest Metro station there is Woodley Park-National Zoo-Adams Morgan.

Cal McAffrey’s (Russell Crowe) apartment building – 3221 Mount Pleasant Street NW, Washington, DC

Cal’s briefcase is stolen by a junkie girl – Ben’s Chili Bowl, 1213 U Street NW, Washington, DC.

    that this is "flawed" film. The source material, the original British 6 part, 5 hour mini series from 2003 made it a thankless task to try and squeeze it all into 2 hours. Brad Pitt was originally interested in playing Cal McAffrey but decided against it as he felt it was impossible to do justice to the original. I think he was right.

    But I have a question. The initial scenes show Deshaun Stagg running from Wisconsin Avenue to where he was shot on Water Street under the Key Bridge. Along the way he briefly passes a large white columned building (1:25 in the film) which is obviously not in Georgetown.

    Do you know the building? It annoys the hell out of me every time I watch this film. Both because it's there and because I don't know where it is!
