  2. Thanks for this very useful post. I knew they had used locations in Baltimore. I'm familiar with the city but was going mad trying to identify that Café Alonso location - just didn't click with any street scene I could recall there! Only by reading your post after watching the movie for the umpteenth time did I learn it was a studio backlot! Thanks again.

  3. At the beginning of the movie there is a large city and landscape painting, almost Dante's hell like. Which and whose painting is that?

  5. I enjoyed the photos and commentary. You may want to take a photo of the Maryvale's castle as it really appears. In the movie there is a large hedge in front. Actually there is a statue of the Virgin Mary. Greenery was used to cover it up. Remember the scene where Luther is on the phone and learns from Det. Frank that the Secret Service is watching Luther's daughter? Luther leaves the phone dangling. The building used to be a Korean cleaners on Marriottsville Rd. by the railroad tracks. I believe that when Det. Frank and Luther are eating and discussing how the crime was probably committed, they are inside of the Engineers Club located in Mt. Vernon near the Washington Monument. A couple of the chase scenes were filmed on Redwood Street in downtown Baltimore.

  6. It's amazing how most of this was filmed in Baltimore and LA. I once lived in DC, didn't recognize any of the locations, and now I know why lol. I currently live in LA and do recognize a handful of the locations though, specifically the hospital. The backlot looks like Warner Brothers in Burbank.
