C. C. Baxter's (Jack Lemmon) office building – 2 Broadway, New York, New York. The 32-story skyscraper, completed in 1959 right before the filming, replaced a landmark of the nineteenth-century city, George B. Post's New York Produce Exchange. The curtain wall was redesigned in 1999.

Baxter’s apartment – 51 W 69th Street, New York, New York. There are a few shots of the real building but the rest was done on a soundstage replica. The façade has since changed and the staircases have been removed. What used to be the apartment entrance is now a second-story window.

Baxter spends a night on a park bench – West Drive, Central Park, New York, New York.

Baxter makes a date with Fran Kubelik (Shirley MacLaine) – Beaver Street at Broadway, New York, New York.

Fran goes to a Chinese restaurant – New Street, New York, New York.

The Chinese restaurant where Fran meets with Baxter's boss Sheldrake (Fred MacMurray) – 58 or 60 New Street, New York, New York. It has since been replaced with a modern building, and it’s hard to pinpoint the exact address. NYC in Film says it's a studio set.

Baxter waiting for Ms Kubelik outside the theater – The Majestic, 245 W 44th Street, New York, New York. The marquee advertises The Music Man, "one of the best musical comedies of our times." The times have surely changed, and it's showing The Phantom of the Opera now.

Double Indemnity (1944)

Walter Neff’s (Fred MacMurray) car swerves down W. 5th Street at S. Olive Street, Los Angeles, California

Neff’s car careens through the intersection of S. Olive Street at W. 6th Street, Los Angeles, California. The Philharmonic Auditorium and the Title Guarantee Building (the taller structure) are visible in the background. The Philharmonic Auditorium stood at the corner of 5th and Olive. The Auditorium hosted the L.A. Philharmonic until the latter moved to the Music Center in 1964. The building was demolished in 1985.

Neff parks his car in front of his office building – 618 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, California. That's my best guess from studying the configuration of the buildings and streetcar tracks on old photographs. The office interior was filmed on a studio set.

Phyllis Dietrichson and Neff secretly meet at Jerry's Market – 5330 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, California. Jerry's Market was located across the street from Paramount Studios. It has been torn down and Producers Studios now stands in its place.

Neff boards a train posing as Phyllis Dietrichson's husband – Southern Pacific Railroad Station, 201 N. Front Street, Burbank, California. It turns out it was not filmed at the Glendale Station, the sign was fake. The production had to relocate to Burbank due to the wartime dim-out regulations. The old Burbank station was damaged by a fire in 1991, and was later demolished. The archive photo below shows it indeed looked like the one in the film.
